Teaching

Since 2018, I have been designing, developing, and teaching graduate level courses related to cultural heritage information, archives and records management, and digital curation and preservation. I use a situated learning approach in the classroom—the idea that we learn new practices by doing them. My syllabi mix theoretical readings with practical case studies, and I provide hands-on learning experiences through exercises and digital curation labs. I also regularly invite cultural heritage information professionals to speak in my classes, since their perspective is an important contributing for helping prepare students for the contemporary workplace.

Some courses I’ve taught include:

  • Digital Heritage Projects
  • Community Archives
  • Archival Principles and Practices
  • Introduction to Records Management
  • Digital Preservation
  • Electronic Records Management
