As a CLIR/DLF postdoctoral fellow in software curation from 2016-2018, I led an exploratory investigation into potential strategies, models, and frameworks for curating and preserving research software at the MIT Libraries.
Blog
Throughout the course of my fellowship, I blogged about my research activities and the questions we encountered as a research library seeking to implement services related to curating and preserving software as a scholarly research object.
Templates for Institutions Curating Research Software
As part of my research, I developed templates to help guide institutions planning to implement software curation services.
- Decisions Points and Pathways for Libraries and Archives Curating Software: This document outlines high level decisions for collecting and appraising software at multiple steps in the curation workflow. It also includes recommended resources for implementing pathways for preserving and providing access to research software.
- Institutional Scenarios for Curating Research Software: An information-gathering exercise for research libraries interested in developing software curation services at their institutions. Co-developed with Jessica Meyerson of the Software Preservation Network.
